LOCATION

Belmonte farm, SARPA's major property, a little over 3,700 acres, is situated in Utinga, Chapada Diamantina, 280 miles from Salvador, Capital of Bahia.

With plenty of water, good soil, altitude between 2,650 and 3,650 ft and ideal temperature, the farm produces Top Quality Coffee for Export, comparable to the best coffees in the world.

THE PLANTATION

The coffee plantation uses up to 740 acres. 445 acres of which contain/house 900,000 trees of Arabica type coffee(Mundo Novo).

Another area of 300 acres is dedicated to the plantation of other varieties of Arabica coffee, such as Catuaí and Catucaí, with a total of 600.000 trees.

75 acres are used in the avocado plantation.

A good irrigation system provides the water supply to the coffee trees, in case of lack of rain during the stages of chumbinho, de granação e de maturação e gemação.

he Mundo Novo Arabica Coffee variety must be renewed every 7 years.

COFFEE NURSERY

The farm has an irrigated nursery with the capacity of producing 100,000 new plants, 50,000 of which are ready to be planted.

The seedlings are created by cloning highly productive and resistant varieties, guaranteeing the uniformity and the quality of the coffee
